Vanessa Ibarra is a

Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Supervisor.

She is the Founder of

Empowered Resilience, PLLC.

Vanessa first began working with individuals in 2010. She interned at the Center for Child Protection in Austin, TX and co-facilitated Protective Parenting Groups. In 2011, Vanessa became a Qualified Mental Health Practitioner at Border Region Behavioral Health Center where she worked with children and adolescents. Vanessa found her calling in working with complex and intensive level clients. This prompted Vanessa to return to graduate school and work toward her Masters of Science in Social Work. During her program and thereafter, Vanessa has worked at Webb County Jail, Ruthe B. Cowl Rehabilitation Center, and The Children’s Advocacy Center of Laredo – Webb County. Aside from providing mental health therapy at Empowered Resilience, PLLC, Vanessa is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, her alma matter.

Vanessa’s passion is to help others during difficult moments by getting to know each individual she works with. She has taken this goal a step further and has begun training future and current professionals both as a professor and as a clinical supervisor.
